تستهوي الافاعي الاماكن الوعرة لما فيها من اماكن اختباء لها و وفرة الفرائس التي تتغذى عليها .
لذلك في حالة التخييم واشعال النيران ، وطبخ الطعام او غلي الماء والشاي … اصبح الادوات هذه مشعة تراها الافاعي وتتحسس حرارتها من على بعد امتار تصل الى ١٢ مترا او حتى ٣٠ حسب درجات الحرارة .
في التخييم تجنب الارض الوعرة والتي يكثر بها الصخور و التعرجات … خيم في مكان بعيد عنها من ٥٠ الى ١٠٠ متر ان امكن .
حاول رفع الادوات الساخنة عن الارض بان تضع على طاولة او علقها تعليقا .
كأس الشاي الدافئ يمثل فأر حجما وحرارة لا تجعل مبيتك حولك اجسام صغيرة و حارة .
حتى الجوال يصدر حرارة قريبة من حرارة جسم الحيوانات الصغيرة و القوارض .
الثعبان او الافعى لا يتجه نحو الفرائس الضخمة … كجسدك مثلا حتى انه يتجنب وجودك ، لكن هناك بعض الامور قد تجذبه ظناً منه انها فريسة .
